French claims on inspection of the military sites do not bring them any international prestige and cannot be noteworthy, Velayati said, speaking to reporters on the sidelines of his meeting with Shaykh Husein Effendi Kavazovic, the Grand Mufti of the Islamic community of Bosnia in Tehran on Saturday.
The French foreign minister, Laurent Fabius, whose country has taken a tough stance in current nuclear negotiations between Iran and 5+1, has said that France will not sign off on a deal if Tehran rules out inspections of its military sites as part of the final agreement.
His baseless claims came a week after Iran’s Leader Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei made clear that he would not allow the Iranian negotiating team to accept inspections of military sites or questioning of the country’s nuclear scientists.
On a question about the French claim, Velayati said France plays no decisive role in the international scene unless uttering harsh-worded claims by those feeling no responsibility over issues.
“Just to please certain parties in the region, having economic dealing with them and without having realistic look at realities, they raise such claims," Velayati said, expressing hope that France would have taken more independent stance like the past not following the West.
